James Mullinger is celebrating 20 years working as a stand up comedian. And he is inviting you to join him in a unique and special show at the Imperial Theatre!

This is James’ only full length public performance in Saint John, New Brunswick in 2024!

He has had a busy year – publishing a bestselling memoir, releasing a sitcom based on his experiences moving to New Brunswick, launching a new stand up special as well as editing Atlantic Canada’s only international magazine The Maritime Edit, but now he is back on the road doing what he does best… entertaining live audiences from coast to coast.

2024 is his 20th year in comedy and to celebrate he is touring North America with his best jokes and routines from two decades on stages around the world. Also featuring brand new material exclusively for 2024, the show will feature his “greatest hits” including routines from his decade touring the UK that have never been performed in Canada before.

Also featuring brand new material exclusive to this tour, this is his Greatest Hits tour so the perfect show for long term fans and newcomers alike. Enjoy James’ best jokes from his 20 years touring the world as a stand up comedian.

With very special guest Ethan Ash!

What they say about James Mullinger:

James Mullinger is Britain’s greatest gift to Canadian comedy.Stuart Nulman, Montreal Times

A great stand up.Jimmy Carr

Fantastic, very talented and very funny. The next big thing. I love James Mullinger.” Michael McIntyre

I don’t even like British people, but I love James Mullinger.” Mary Walsh

James Mullinger is my favourite comedian friend who has relocated from England to New Brunswick. And I’m not just saying that because he’s the only one.” Steve Patterson, host of CBC’s The Debaters

The East Coast won the comedy jackpot when James Mullinger decided to make the Maritimes his home. James makes me laugh until my stomach hurts.” Alyse Hand, Global News Halifax

The book is filled with humour, of course, including Mullinger’s trademark observations of Canadian, and specifically Atlantic Canadian, foibles from a newcomer’s perspective. But there’s also a note of vulnerability in his writing as he shares his feelings about the tenuous career path of anyone who sets out to entertain for a living, and the enjoyment he gets from making hundreds of people laugh, night after night.Stephen Cooke, Chronicle Herald

James Mullinger masterfully straddles the line between the objective and inclusive, culturally and geographically. He gently pokes us with a stick while being one of us.” Jonathan Torrens

COMING TO SELECT THEATRES IN ATLANTIC CANADA

Tickets On Sale Friday, November 17th!

Ian Thomas is “the complete entertainment experience!” He is a film-composer with 22 feature films to his credit; an author; an actor, much sought after as a voice-over artist and recognized for roles such as Dougie Franklin on the Red Green Show… and, of course, a Juno-award-winning Singer-Songwriter whose songs helped form the bedrock of the Canadian musical landscape, a contribution recognized by SOCAN when Ian was honoured with a National Achievement Award for Songwriting.

Ian Thomas first garnered major radio airplay in1973 with the top-40 single Painted Ladies, followed by a string of hits throughout the 70s and 80s, and on into the 90s with his band The Boomers. Whether performed by him or covered by artists including Santana, Chicago, Manfred Mann, America, Bon Jovi and Bette Midler, Ian’s many hits continually achieved heavy rotation on radio across Canada and around the world … recordings such as Come The Sun, Long Long Way, Right Before Your Eyes, Coming Home, Pilot, Hold On, Time Is The Keeper, Liars, Wishes, The Runner, Levity, Back To Square One, Love Ya Too Much, You Gotta Know, One Little Word, Dirty Love, To Comfort You, and of course, Painted Ladies. In the new millennium, Ian joined fellow singer-songwriters Murray McLauchlan, Marc Jordan and Cindy Church to form Lunch At Allen’s, touring coast to coast for the past two decades, and now with five albums to their credit.

Of his art, Ian says: “The song remains the most satisfying creative experience for me. Songs are interactive and, with over 50 years of writing, I have spent many hours with each one and they with me. When I listen to one of my old albums, I remember where I was and the people I made them with, some living, some now dead.  I think about who I am, who I used to be, and who I thought I was. These albums are like flags stuck in the road behind me that wind back, into the past, almost out of view.”

Ian Thomas, with his stellar 4-piece band, brings past to present recreating the original sound of all the hits … 70s, 80s, 90s and beyond. Ian Thomas … Not Gone Yet! Reserved seating tickets are $71.50 (tax & facility fees included, additional surcharges may apply), go on sale Friday, November 17th, and are available from the box offices listed below.  Showtime is 7:30pm. Fresh out of college, Carla (Leonie Benesch) is a new hire at a German junior high. Soon beloved by her homeroom, she takes great pride in her job, though not in her Polish heritage, which she hides from her colleagues. The school has a problem: a thief is at work and causing suspicion among students and staff. After falling victim to the culprit’s handiwork — and with her Turkish pupil falsely accused of the crime — Carla is embroiled in a plot to entrap the real offender. With the help of her laptop, she manages to corner Friederike (Eva Löbau), who works as the school secretary and whose bright son Oskar (Leonard Stettnisch) is in Carla’s class. With the rumour mill roiling and the school newspaper weighing in, Carla is in the spotlight and neither Friederike nor Oskar, who starts spreading damaging rumours in retaliation for his mother’s dismissal, will go down without a fight.
