Position: Bookkeeper
Location: Imperial Theatre, Saint John, NB
Reports to: Director of Operations & Finance

Compensation:
- Salary Range $45,000 – 50,000 annually

Position Overview:
The Bookkeeper plays a critical role in maintaining the financial integrity and operational efficiency of Imperial Theatre.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate financial records - Maintaining detailed and accurate financial records for the organization, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
- Assist in the Preparation of financial reports – Preparing financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. They will provide these reports to the Executive Director and Board of Directors on a regular basis.
- Process payments and invoices - Processing payments and invoices, ensuring that all expenses and income are properly recorded and coded.
- Manage payroll - Managing the organization's payroll, ensuring that all employees are paid accurately and on time.
- Reconcile bank statements - Reconciling monthly bank statements and ensuring that all transactions are properly recorded.
- Assist with budgeting - Assist the Executive Director and Board of Directors in creating and maintaining the organization's annual budget.
- Coordinate with auditors - Work closely with external auditors to ensure that all financial records are accurate and up to date for the annual audit.
- Maintain compliance - Ensure that all financial records and procedures are in compliance with applicable laws and regulations, including charitable receipt, taxation remittances, etc.
The Ideal Candidate will:
- Possesses formal education and hands-on experience in accounting, bookkeeping, payroll, and financial reporting, especially within small to medium-sized organizations.
- Be skilled in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office, with adaptability to quickly learn new financial software and tools.
- Have a strong understanding of compliance regulations for charitable organizations, payroll, taxation, and audits, ensuring meticulous accuracy and error-free financial records.
- Be confident analyzing financial data, identifying discrepancies or inefficiencies, and resolving issues promptly.
- Demonstrate exceptional organizational abilities to prioritize multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and handle urgent requests without compromising quality.
- Be a clear and professional communicator capable of explaining financial information to non-financial stakeholders and working effectively across departments.
- Hold an unwavering commitment to ethical standards, confidentiality, and trustworthiness in managing sensitive financial and personnel data.
- Be a friendly, approachable, accountable individual with a passion for the performing arts and dedication to supporting the organization’s mission and values.
- Be bondable / provide a current criminal record check.

Position: Box Office Associate
Status: Casual/Part-time
Hours of Work: Evenings and weekends
Remuneration: $16.00/hr

The Arts & Culture scene in Saint John is vibrant and diverse for such a small population and Imperial Theatre is at the heart of it.
Job Description / Responsibilities:
The Box Office Associate is a helpful, detail-oriented individual – they are responsible for selling tickets using our digital ticketing system, handling cash and credit card sales and balancing deposits at the end of each shift. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Learning and operating a ticketing POS system (Spektrix)
- Booking tickets & subscriptions, processing donations, at the box office and by phone
- Selling tickets at the door, and distributing will-call tickets
- Assist with incoming and outgoing customer service calls
- Answering patron inquiries at the box office – accessibility, seating, memberships, etc.
Qualifications:
- Intermediate computer skills, experience with ticketing systems is a plus
- Ability to listen to concerns and resolve problems creatively
- Self-motivated, capable of independent reasoning and troubleshooting
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work in an organized, efficient manner – attention to detail is a must
- Ability to maintain a high level of poise and professionalism in all circumstances
