Our Mission & Values

To Enrich, Engage and Inspire our community through the performing arts.

Our Core Values

Imperial Theatre has been operating in Menahkwesk/Saint John over thirty years, supporting artists and working across communities, on the ancestral homelands and unceded territory of the Wolastoqiyik and Mi’kmaq Peoples. We at Imperial Theatre strive for respectful relationships through all of the programming that we support, as we work towards collective healing and honour this land together.

We wish to make Imperial Theatre a welcoming, fun, and caring space for patrons, performers, artists, agents, managers, employees, and volunteers alike.

Imperial Theatre does not tolerate discrimination, aggressive speech, or violent acts. This includes but is not limited to: racism, white supremacy, sexism, heterosexism/homophobia, cissexism/transphobia, queerphobia, sizeism, ableist and ageist comments, and all acts of violence and harassment. This applies to every person that works and plays in our space.

Imperial Theatre is committed to implementing and upholding equitable hiring practices and in selecting volunteers, committee members and performing artists so that we shall
have more equitable representation across communities – including Indigenous, Black, racialized, LGBTQ+, and disability communities.
