INCUBATOR PROJECT

Our Incubator Project is currently full.
We thank you for your interest!

This project is designed to give local amateur and emerging artists in our Region an opportunity to use our space and professional equipment and work directly with our highly skilled technical and arts administration staff to safely rehearse current works or for the creation of new work.

During the COVID 19 crisis and as Imperial Theatre remains closed until public events can be held safely again, the organization began to look for new and unique ways to help the arts and culture community through these difficult times.

The Imperial Theatre Incubator Program will help address some of the barriers facing artists as they try to create new work and find ways to rehearse. Financial constraints, suitable spaces and studios that allow for social distancing and equipment requirements will no longer be issue that will hold artists back.

Local musicians, vocalists, dance companies and groups, theatre companies, comedians and all other forms of performing artists will be able to access Imperial Theatre’s space at no charge.

Stage I: The Artist Incubator Project

  1. Provides space on stage and in the auditorium for artists to rehearse or create new work while maintaining a safe social distance from each other.
  2. Provides full access to the Theatre’s technical equipment and the technicians to operate it.
  3. Provides training and consultation for artists in the areas of tech, arts admin, marketing and promotion with Imperial Theatre’s highly trained staff.

Artists will be granted time slots based on an application process and will be contacted by an Imperial Theatre representative to schedule their timeslot.

The project is dependent on the Province of New Brunswick’s Covid-19 Recovery Plan. An Incubator artist may begin or be cancelled at any time in response to the Province’s State of Emergency Act.

For the safety of Imperial Incubator Project Artists and for the Theatre’s Staff  all participants will be required to follow Imperial Theatre’s Safety Standards and Operational Plan for working in the building.
